Overview

Istanbul Airport is Turkey’s main international airport and one of the world’s busiest. It is named after Istanbul, the historical and cultural name of the city. It opened in 2018 and replaced the former Atatürk Airport. It has four terminals, five concourses and four runways, with a capacity of 90 million passengers per year in the first phase. When completed, it will have six terminals, eight concourses and six runways, with a capacity of 200 million passengers per year.

Istanbul Airport offers many services and facilities for travelers, such as food, shopping, hotels, car rentals, parking, taxis, buses, accessibility, lost and found, premium services and more. It also has a website and a loyalty program for passengers. It serves more than 350 destinations in 110 countries, and is the hub for Turkish Airlines.

Istanbul Airport cares about the environment, the economy and the society. It participates in various projects and initiatives to reduce its impact and noise pollution. It is also a partner of the Istanbul 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
