Highlights from World Culinary Awards

The World Culinary Awards is a prestigious global initiative that recognizes and celebrates excellence in the culinary industry. 

The winners were selected from over 200 categories across seven regions: Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, Indian Ocean, Latin America, and Middle East


Among the winners, there are some restaurants that stand out for their exceptional quality, creativity, and service. These are some of the award winners :


Noma (Denmark)

Noma is the winner of the World’s Best Restaurant award, as well as the Europe’s Best Restaurant award. Noma is a two-Michelin-starred restaurant that showcases Nordic cuisine with seasonal and local ingredients. The restaurant is led by chef René Redzepi, who is known for his innovative and experimental approach to cooking. Noma offers a tasting menu that changes according to the availability of produce and the chef’s inspiration. Some of the dishes include fermented plums and wild roses, grilled onion with fermented pear sauce, and reindeer moss with chocolate


Odette (Singapore)

Odette is the winner of the Asia’s Best Restaurant award, as well as the Singapore’s Best Restaurant award. Odette is a three-Michelin-starred restaurant that serves modern French cuisine with Asian influences. The restaurant is named after the grandmother of chef Julien Royer, who pays tribute to her by creating dishes that are refined, elegant, and comforting. Odette offers a choice of four or six courses for lunch and six or eight courses for dinner. Some of the dishes include Hokkaido uni with caviar and brioche, rosemary smoked organic egg with chorizo iberico and buckwheat, and pigeon cooked in hay with foie gras and cherries


La Colombe (South Africa)

La Colombe is the winner of the Africa’s Best Restaurant award, as well as the South Africa’s Best Restaurant award. La Colombe is a one-Michelin-starred restaurant that serves contemporary French cuisine with South African flavours. The restaurant is located on a wine estate in Constantia, overlooking the vineyards and mountains. The restaurant is led by chef James Gaag, who creates dishes that are playful, artistic, and delicious. La Colombe offers a seasonal tasting menu that features dishes such as tuna ‘la colombe’, lamb roti with curry sauce and sambals, and coconut panna cotta with passion fruit sorbet.


At.Mosphere Burj Khalifa (UAE)

At.Mosphere Burj Khalifa is the winner of the World’s Best Landmark Restaurant award, as well as the Middle East’s Best Landmark Restaurant award. At.Mosphere Burj Khalifa is a fine dining restaurant that offers breathtaking views of Dubai from the 122nd floor of the world’s tallest building. The restaurant serves international cuisine with a focus on prime cuts of meat and seafood. The restaurant also has a lounge area where guests can enjoy cocktails and snacks while admiring the skyline.


BiBo Doha (Qatar)

BiBo Doha is the winner of the World’s Best New Restaurant award, as well as the Qatar’s Best New Restaurant award. BiBo Doha is a Spanish restaurant that opened in 2020 at The St. Regis Doha hotel. The restaurant is part of a global chain founded by chef Dani García, who has three Michelin stars in Spain. BiBo Doha offers a variety of dishes that showcase Spanish gastronomy with a twist, such as croquetas de jamón ibérico with kimchi mayo, paella de marisco with lobster bisque and saffron aioli, and torrija caramelizada with vanilla ice cream.


Zuma (Global)

Zuma is the winner of the World’s Best Restaurant Brand award. Zuma is a Japanese restaurant chain that has locations in 12 cities around the world, including London, New York, Hong Kong, Dubai, and Istanbul. Zuma is known for its izakaya-style dining concept, where guests can share dishes from different sections of the menu: sushi and sashimi, robata grill, tempura, salads, and more. Zuma also has a bar area where guests can enjoy cocktails and sake in a stylish setting.


CÉ LA VI @ Address Sky View (UAE)

CÉ LA VI @ Address Sky View is the winner of the World’s Best Rooftop Restaurant award, as well as the Middle East’s Best Rooftop Restaurant award. CÉ LA VI @ Address Sky View is a restaurant and lounge that offers panoramic views of Dubai from the 54th floor of the Address Sky View hotel. The restaurant serves Asian fusion cuisine with dishes such as wagyu beef tataki with truffle ponzu, crispy duck salad with palm sugar dressing, and black cod miso with yuzu kosho. The lounge also has a DJ and a pool where guests can relax and enjoy the sunset.


Dubai (UAE)

Dubai is the winner of the World’s Best Culinary Destination award, as well as the Middle East’s Best Culinary Destination award. Dubai is a city that offers a diverse and exciting culinary scene, with restaurants that cater to every taste and budget. Dubai has restaurants that serve cuisines from all over the world, such as Indian, Lebanese, Thai, French, Italian, and more. Dubai also has restaurants that showcase Emirati culture and heritage, such as Al Fanar, Al Hadheerah, and Seven Sands. Dubai also hosts many culinary events and festivals throughout the year, such as Dubai Food Festival, Taste of Dubai, and Dubai Restaurant Week.


Jamaica Food & Drink Festival (Jamaica)

Jamaica Food & Drink Festival is the winner of the World’s Best Culinary Festival award, as well as the Caribbean’s Best Culinary Festival award. Jamaica Food & Drink Festival is an annual event that celebrates Jamaican cuisine and culture. The festival features various events that showcase different aspects of Jamaican food and drink, such as Picante, which focuses on spicy dishes; Chopstix, which focuses on Asian fusion dishes; Crisp, which focuses on fried dishes; and Meet Street & The Market, which focuses on street food and local produce. The festival also features live music, entertainment, and demonstrations by local and international chefs.


Le Cordon Bleu Paris (France)

Le Cordon Bleu Paris is the winner of the World’s Best Culinary Training Institution award, as well as the Europe’s Best Culinary Training Institution award. Le Cordon Bleu Paris is a prestigious culinary school that was founded in 1895 and has trained many renowned chefs such as Julia Child, Gastón Acurio, and Giada De Laurentiis. Le Cordon Bleu Paris offers various programs and courses in culinary arts, pastry arts, bakery arts, wine and management, and gastronomy and nutrition. Le Cordon Bleu Paris also has a restaurant, a café, a boutique, and a library where students can practice their skills and showcase their talents.
