The Aiguille du Midi cable car rises from Chamonix to terraces high above the valley, facing Mont Blanc and its surrounding peaks. The changing scale of the landscape is the attraction, from the wooded lower slopes to the ice and rock near the summit. Allow time for the viewing areas rather than rushing between them.
