Amandayan Dining
Yunnan

Amandayan Dining is the food and beverage programme at Amandayan in Lijiang, Yunnan, with its main restaurant, Man Yi Xuan, set on Lion Hill above the UNESCO-protected Old Town. The official address places the property in Gucheng District, and Aman describes the resort’s dining as part of a hilltop retreat rather than a stand-alone street restaurant. The setting gives the dining rooms a clear sense of place, shaped by the old town below and the mountain outlook beyond. Man Yi Xuan serves Yunnan cuisine and Western-style dishes for lunch and dinner, using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, including fresh river fish from Lijiang. Aman says the restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining, with views that include Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Reservations are available to hotel guests and non-residents, subject to availability, so the room can function as a destination restaurant as well as an in-house dining option. The restaurant includes four private dining rooms, and Aman’s official material links these spaces with hotpot and more intimate meals. The dining programme also features Pavilion Dining, described as a separate setting for private breakfast or a candlelit dinner. These additional spaces broaden the experience beyond the main room, giving guests options for enclosed tables and quieter occasions without changing the resort’s overall dining focus. Elsewhere in the property, the Tea House serves Western bistro-style lunches and dinners, afternoon tea, teas, cocktails and fine wines, while the Lounge offers breakfast with local specialities and Western classics. Aman’s factsheet also notes that the Lounge can serve Chinese and Western à la carte dishes. Together with the Nakhi-inspired architecture and wooden lattice windows of Amandayan, the dining spaces reflect the resort’s local character in a measured, residential style.
