Amanwella is a contemporary beach resort in Tangalle on Sri Lanka’s south coast, set among lush greenery above a curved stretch of sand. The official resort pages present it as a secluded seaside address where the beach, coconut palms and Indian Ocean shape the experience. Its location gives the hotel a calm, coastal character, with the sea and shoreline closely tied to the design, atmosphere and outlook of the property. Accommodation is made up of stand-alone suites rather than conventional hotel rooms, and each suite has a private pool and a sea-facing terrace with sun loungers and a dining area. The Beach Club is reserved for hotel guests and offers casual lunches, private dinners and beach barbecues, while the Lounge Bar serves drinks, snacks, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner on a terrace that looks towards the pool and coast. Leisure and wellbeing facilities include a 47-metre swimming pool and an open-air yoga platform with sea views. The spa menu features massages, facials, manicures and pedicures, with treatments available in-suite and on the beach, as well as in the privacy of the guest suite. Therapies draw on Ayurvedic traditions and local ingredients, and the hotel also arranges meditation, private yoga, personal training and cooking classes within its Sri Lankan coastal setting.
