Aqua Nicaragua
Nicaragua

Aqua Nicaragua is Aqua Oceanfront Resort, a hotel at Redonda Bay on Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast, around 12 kilometres north of San Juan del Sur. The property overlooks a private cove with a sheltered white-sand beach and broad Pacific views. Official material also places it in a tropical dry forest setting, so the landscape shifts between drier and greener periods rather than remaining uniformly lush throughout the year. Accommodation is made up of 19 free-standing villas raised into the treetops. These are offered in one-bedroom to three-bedroom layouts, with the resort describing them as suitable for couples, families and groups of up to six. Individual villas are presented with private ensuite bedrooms, plunge pools, spacious decks, outdoor showers and indoor-outdoor dining areas, and the build uses sustainable Nicaraguan hardwoods. Food and drink are centred on a beachfront restaurant and beachside bar. The resort says its menus make use of local and organic ingredients where possible, including fish sourced from local fishermen, with bread and pizzas baked in an adobe oven. Guests can also arrange in-room dining, and the property mentions private chef experiences for those seeking a more secluded stay. Facilities extend to a spa, a yoga deck and direct access to the resort’s private beach. The hotel positions itself as a nature-led retreat and refers to habitat-preservation efforts within the surrounding area, which is associated with nesting turtles, monkeys, dolphins and whales in Redonda Bay. The result is a low-rise coastal stay that combines privacy, sea views and a close relationship with the natural setting.
