Aspen combines a lively mountain town with access to four distinct ski areas: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass. A single Aspen Snowmass lift ticket opens all four, allowing skiers and snowboarders to choose terrain to suit their ability and mood. Aspen Mountain rises directly from downtown. Highlands attracts confident skiers to its steeper terrain and hike-to Highland Bowl, while Buttermilk combines gentler runs with terrain parks. Snowmass offers the largest area, with long groomed trails and tree skiing. When the snow retreats, gondola sightseeing, hiking and mountain biking bring a different perspective.
