Ba'theli by the Reef brings Maldivian food and maritime history together on three traditional wooden boats in Milaidhoo's lagoon. One houses the sunset bar, another the kitchen and the third the restaurant, with deck seating and an indoor dining area overlooking marine life through a glass floor. The kitchen now centres on communal, family-style meals, reflecting the way food is shared in island homes. Grilled Maldivian lobster comes with a curry using leaves from the resort's Chef's Garden, while rice preparations include smoked tuna, pumpkin and papaya. A traditional lacquered wooden serving dish carries the heritage of celebratory feasts into the meal. Miniature Maldivian sweets with screw pine ice cream provide a distinctive finish.
