Bao Li Xuan serves Cantonese cuisine on the third floor of Shanghai’s historic Chamber of Commerce building, part of Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai. Chef Fu’s cooking follows Guangdong traditions, with seasonal ingredients shaping the menu. Wine, Chinese baijiu, yellow wine and tea give diners several ways to accompany a meal. Restored coffered ceilings frame a room furnished with turquoise silk wallpaper, black lacquer panels and carpets patterned in an Art Deco style. Six private dining rooms take their colours from gemstones, with jewellery sketches from the Bvlgari archives linking the interiors to the hotel’s Italian identity. The setting brings Shanghai’s commercial history into a carefully restored dining space.
