Beijing Road Cultural Tourism Zone
Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, China, west to Jiaoyu Road and Changxing Street; centre around Beijing Road
Beijing Road Cultural Tourism Zone is a large open urban attraction rather than a single building, and it earns its place because it brings together Guangzhou’s historical core, shopping streets and everyday street life in one walkable area. The Guangzhou culture and tourism authority describes it as the city’s political, cultural and commercial centre for more than two thousand years and gives defined boundaries within Yuexiu District: west to Jiaoyu Road and Changxing Street, north to Zhongshan Fifth Road and Guangwei Road, east to Wende Road, and south to Huifu East Road and Wenming Road, covering about 0.36 square kilometres. The same official material states that it is a fully open, free 4A tourist attraction. Access and circulation are also specifically supported by regulation rather than assumed. The municipal rules on Beijing Road Pedestrian Street identify the managed pedestrian-street area and confirm its protected commercial and cultural role, showing that walking is the intended way to experience the district. This ranking is justified because the zone lets visitors combine archaeology, heritage streets, food stops and retail without needing transport between separate sights. It is not a museum-style attraction with one ticket desk; it is an operating public cultural-tourism district with open access, though individual shops, museums and heritage venues inside it keep their own hours.
