Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge

Savute Elephant Lodge overlooks a permanent waterhole in Botswana's Chobe National Park. Beyond it lies the Savute Channel, whose unpredictable shifts between wet and dry have helped shape this distinctive safari landscape. Wildlife can be watched from the lodge as well as sought on guided game drives. The tented rooms stand on raised bamboo platforms, with four-poster beds and bathrooms inside. Private decks provide space for watching the bush or arranging a secluded dinner. The main dining deck keeps the surroundings in view, while cultural excursions can explore the area's ancient rock paintings. The waterhole gives the lodge a focal point even when the channel itself is dry.
