Bern's Steak House

Bern’s Steak House has occupied its Howard Avenue address in Tampa since 1956, building its reputation around steaks dry-aged in house and cut to order. The Laxer family created the restaurant from a block that once held a grocery, barber and dime store, giving its development a distinctly local history. Prime beef is aged for five to eight weeks, while oysters, escargots and caviar broaden the opening courses. Wine is a major part of the meal, with an extensive collection spanning recent releases and older vintages. Afterwards, the separate Harry Waugh Dessert Room offers handmade desserts and after-dinner drinks in private booths constructed from old wine casks.
