Bistró Sur at Faena Buenos Aires pairs Philippe Starck’s theatrical dining-room design with Pedro Picciau’s Italian and Sardinian cooking. The restaurant currently hosts Italpast, the Buenos Aires edition of the chef’s family restaurant, within a room of white furnishings, red carpet, chandeliers and sculptural unicorn heads. The culinary direction draws on traditional Italian-Sardinian flavours, giving this distinctive Puerto Madero setting a clear regional focus. Dinner is the principal service, with Sunday lunch offering another opportunity to experience the room. Its elaborate décor makes the setting a substantial part of the occasion.
