Boboli Gardens

Boboli Gardens are a substantial cultural site rather than a simple park stop, and they make strong sense in a Florence ranking because they add open-air scale to a city better known for churches, palaces and gallery interiors. The official Uffizi Galleries page describes the gardens directly behind Pitti Palace, explains that the Medici established their layout, and presents the site as an outdoor museum of ancient and Renaissance statues, grottos and fountains. It also notes later development by the Habsburg-Lorraine and Savoy dynasties, with the grounds extending towards Porta Romana. That gives the visit both historical depth and a clear urban setting within Florence rather than as a peripheral excursion. Practically, this is a managed ticketed attraction with its own opening pattern and several access points. The official site lists daily opening from 8.15am, with seasonal closing times, and states that the gardens are closed on the first and last Monday of each month and on 25 December. Entry and exit are possible via Pitti Palace, the Annalena entrance in Via Romana, Porta Romana and Forte di Belvedere. The last admission is one hour before closing, and temporary weather-related closures are possible. Accessibility information is also specific: entrances from Pitti Square and Porta Romana are usable, but the sloping clay-and-gravel terrain means the garden is visitable only with an accompanying person.
