Cairns Art Gallery
Cairns City, Australia
Cairns Art Gallery connects a heritage setting with a changing programme of historical and contemporary work. Its exhibitions and collection bring particular attention to the culture of Far North Queensland, alongside wider Australian and international perspectives. The gallery now spans three heritage buildings, giving an ordinary city walk an appealing cultural anchor. Visit for the current exhibition rather than expecting one permanent display, and leave time to browse the shop's carefully selected art and design.
