The CAPC occupies the Entrepôt Lainé, a former colonial-goods warehouse whose stone arches give contemporary art an unusually powerful setting. Temporary exhibitions, performances and works made for the building keep the museum connected to current artistic practice. Its Chartrons location fits naturally into a day exploring the district and riverfront. Read the exhibition programme before visiting, since the experience changes with each installation. The architecture alone is compelling, but allowing time for the art makes the visit considerably more rewarding.
