Chamonix
French Alps

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is a mountain town in Haute-Savoie, set beneath the Mont Blanc massif. Its valley brings together ski areas, alpine villages and routes for walking, climbing and cycling, with a strong connection to the history of mountaineering. Cable cars provide access to high viewpoints, including the Aiguille du Midi and the slopes facing Mont Blanc at Brévent and Flégère. The Montenvers railway leads towards the Mer de Glace, adding a glacier excursion to the valley’s activities. Summer walking routes range from lower-level trails to demanding mountain terrain, while winter brings skiing and snowboarding across several areas. Museums and village streets offer ways to explore the valley’s culture alongside its outdoor landscape.
