Gabriela Cámara’s Contramar has been a lively fixture of Roma Norte since 1998, bringing Mexico’s coastal seafood traditions to the capital. The menu moves confidently between the cold bar, tostadas, tacos and grilled fish, making it well suited to a long meal shared around the table. Tuna tostadas are a natural starting point, followed by the signature pescado a la talla, dressed with red chilli and parsley sauces. Octopus, ceviches and shrimp aguachiles offer other routes through the menu, with seasonal availability guiding the kitchen. The dessert tray keeps the final decision pleasantly visual. Its animated dining room on Durango Street is part of the attraction, and reservations are worthwhile.
