Coquine
Oregon

Coquine brings chef Katy Millard’s seasonal cooking to Portland’s Mount Tabor neighbourhood. The restaurant shares a historic building with its adjoining market, creating a small cluster of food-focused spaces on Southeast Belmont Street. Dinner in the restaurant can follow either an à la carte or prix fixe format. Both food and drink change with the seasons, with local farms informing a menu designed for the intimate scale of the room. The neighbouring market adds a different rhythm. It serves coffee, pastries and sandwiches by day, then becomes Katy Jane’s Oyster Bar in the evening, giving visitors another way to experience the team’s cooking. Coquine’s restaurant dining room accepts parties of up to four, making it particularly suited to a couple or small group. The appeal is the combination of neighbourhood scale and a considered seasonal menu, with a market or oyster-bar visit offering a reason to return at another time.
