Evvai

Evvai is Luiz Filipe Souza’s restaurant in São Paulo’s Jardim Paulistano, where he explores the exchange between Italian immigration and Brazilian food culture. He calls the approach ‘Oriundi’, drawing on the traditions of Italian descendants while working with local producers and ingredients. The menu moves between Italian and Brazilian references, sometimes bringing both together within one preparation. A tasting sequence gives that dialogue room to develop beyond a conventional division into starters and main courses. Dishes such as cod and tucupi cappuccino illustrate how an Italian form can carry a distinctly Brazilian ingredient. The restaurant’s setting on Rua Joaquim Antunes keeps the focus on Souza’s evolving interpretation of those shared culinary histories.
