Shurijo’s gates, stone walls and hilltop setting introduce the royal history of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Walk through the park with time to notice the architecture and look across Naha, rather than treating it as a single-building visit. Reconstruction following the 2019 fire is reaching an important milestone, with the restored Seiden interior scheduled to open on 23 November 2026.
