Fairfax House
York, United Kingdom
Fairfax House brings Georgian York into focus through furnished rooms, decorative arts and stories of the people connected with the house. The Noel Terry collection includes furniture, clocks and paintings, giving you plenty to notice beyond the architecture. It is a good complement to York’s medieval sights rather than another large museum visit. Check opening dates carefully: the house closes from 2 to 13 November 2026 for installation work, reopening on 14 November with its Christmas exhibition.
