Fish Market, or Fiskmarkaðurinn, combines Icelandic ingredients with Asian techniques at Aðalstræti 12 in Reykjavík’s historic centre. Chef Hrefna Sætran and her team offer sharing tasting menus as well as dishes ordered individually, with fish and shellfish central to the cooking. Sushi includes Arctic char nigiri and vegetable maki, while the robata grill uses binchotan charcoal for fish and meat. Menu examples range from miso-marinated black cod with coconut rice and kimchi to grilled halibut with grapefruit chimichurri. Vegetarian dishes and steaks extend the choice beyond seafood, and Uppi wine bar sits above the restaurant.
