Fubo Hill Scenic Area

East bank of the Li River, central Guilin, Guangxi, China

Fubo Hill is a long-established central Guilin hill attraction on the Li River, operated within the same official scenic network as the city’s better-known waterfront sights. The scenic-area operator describes it as a prominent riverside hill whose form partly extends over land and partly into the river, and highlights named features including the Returning Pearl Cave, a large iron bell, a thousand-person cauldron, Tang-period Buddhist sculpture and calligraphy associated with Mi Fu. That mix makes it more than a lookout: it is one of the city-centre places where karst geology, river position and historic artefacts are presented together. This is best suited to travellers who want a manageable climb with a stronger sense of old Guilin than the lakeside promenade alone provides. The official overview groups Fubo Hill with other headline urban scenic sites and explicitly presents it as part of the classic central sightseeing route, which supports its inclusion within city proper rather than as an out-of-town excursion. Practical operation is also confirmed by the operator’s visitor-centre page, which lists a dedicated Fubo Hill scenic-area rescue hotline, showing the hill remains an actively managed visitor site. It ranks below Guilin’s biggest icons because it is more specialised and smaller in scale, but for inscriptions, cave features, river-edge setting and elevated city views, it is a rewarding supporting stop.
