Galatoire's

Galatoire’s has occupied Bourbon Street in New Orleans since Jean Galatoire founded it in 1905. His French family recipes and traditions remain part of a restaurant whose mirrored dining room has long hosted family celebrations and Friday lunches. Descendants of the founder continue to be involved in its ownership. The cooking follows French Creole traditions, with Gulf oysters, fish and crab prominent in the menu. Poultry, game and fresh produce broaden the choices, while sauces such as rémoulade, meunière, béarnaise and hollandaise provide characteristic flavours. The restaurant’s emphasis is on established preparations carried through generations rather than a constantly changing culinary concept.
