Georges French Bistro brings French neighbourhood dining to Wichita's College Hill area. Chef and owner George Youssef's restaurant centres on familiar bistro dishes, with an open kitchen, brass accents and a dining-room partition that opens to create an outdoor feel. French onion soup, escargots and steak frites anchor the menu. Hand-cut steaks use Creekstone Farms Black Angus beef, while lunch adds crêpes, quiche and mussels cooked with white wine, garlic and herbs. A vegetarian crêpe uses ratatouille vegetables and tomato sauce. Crème brûlée and opera cake continue the French theme through dessert. Wines, cocktails and coffee give the restaurant several different rhythms, from a crêpe at lunch to a longer dinner; two adjoining private rooms accommodate group meals.
