Gleneagles

Gleneagles opened in 1924 and spreads across an 850-acre Scottish estate. Three championship golf courses form a major part of its identity, with the Ryder and Solheim Cups among the events hosted here. The grounds extend the experience beyond golf through lochs, gardens and a broad programme of outdoor pursuits. Activities include clay shooting, trout fishing, gundog handling and falconry, with further fishing excursions available on the River Tay. Indoors, the spa provides a quieter counterpoint. Restaurants and bars range from clubhouse meals to more formal dining, with live piano in The Strathearn and a choice of spaces for afternoon tea, cocktails and family meals.
