Haas Promenade
North Talpiot, Yanovski Street, Jerusalem
Haas Promenade is a broad public ridge-top walkway in southeastern Jerusalem, officially identified by the Jerusalem Foundation as the Walter and Elise Haas Promenade on Yanovski Street in North Talpiot. This is a much cleaner catalogue identity than a generic ‘Mount of Olives viewpoint’: it is a named, bounded public place whose main attraction is exactly the panorama visitors seek, with wide views towards the Old City and beyond. The promenade works well because the experience is both immediate and flexible. You can come for a short skyline stop, a longer walk along the linked promenade system, or an evening pause when the changing light makes the city’s topography easiest to read. It is not a ticketed museum and the appeal is not interpretive display but open urban landscape, viewpoints and public space. The Jerusalem Foundation material also makes clear that the Haas Promenade forms the central portion of a larger chain connected to the Sherover and Goldman promenades, so visitors can either treat it as one viewpoint stop or as part of a longer ridge walk. Access is public outdoor access rather than managed admission. This replacement resolves the adverse evidence by naming a clearly documented official promenade instead of relying on an imprecise standalone-branch label for the Mount of Olives view.
