Happy Fish brings Mediterranean fish cooking to a terrace overlooking Jerusalem's Mamilla Boulevard. Part of Mamilla Hotel, it is accessible from the hotel and the pedestrian avenue, with the Old City a short walk away. Chef Ran Nechemia's kitchen pairs fresh fish with bread, salads and the flavours of the eastern Mediterranean. The menu ranges from whole sea bass and sea bream to red drum kebabs served over aubergine with herbs and raisins. Fish shawarma arrives with tahini, pickled onion and amba, while salmon with date-honey tahini, pumpkin and mushrooms offers another direction. A tofu version of the shawarma gives the meal a plant-based alternative. The open terrace accommodates family lunches as well as longer evening meals.
