Hin Ta Hin Yai coastal rocks
Southern Lamai, Thailand

The rounded coastal rocks at Hin Ta Hin Yai are associated with a local grandfather-and-grandmother legend and have become one of Samui’s familiar sights. Their unusual shapes draw the crowds, but the wider shoreline is the more lasting reason to stop. Treat this as a short scenic pause within a southern-island outing, perhaps alongside Wat Sila Ngu, rather than building an entire day around it. Go early if you prefer more space to enjoy the setting.
