On Burlington's Church Street, Honey Road builds dinner around Eastern Mediterranean mezze. Small plates make sharing central to the meal, allowing diners to move between vegetables, meat and the sharper flavours of spices, pickles and yoghurt. Chef Cara Tobin and co-founder Allison Gibson established the restaurant with a particular interest in the cooking of the eastern Mediterranean, including Turkey and the Levant. The concept gives Vermont diners a distinctive alternative to the region's more familiar farm-to-table repertoire. The restaurant serves dinner and also offers takeaway. Its position on the pedestrian shopping street places a meal within Burlington's downtown life, with the menu's sharing format encouraging several dishes across the table.
