HOTA Gallery
Surfers Paradise, Australia
HOTA Gallery gives the Gold Coast a substantial contemporary-art destination within its wider riverside arts precinct. The colourful building houses exhibition spaces, a changing programme and works drawn from the collection, with photography, ceramics and Indigenous art among its strengths. Allow time to explore the current displays rather than arriving for one famous object. A gallery visit also pairs naturally with a reserved meal at Palette, making this an appealing culture-led afternoon.
