Hotel Ranga

Hotel Rangá stands beside the river that gives it its name in southern Iceland. Built with cedar imported from Canada, its timber interiors are complemented by Icelandic art and guest-room murals. Accommodation ranges from standard rooms to suites inspired by different continents, with a separate Icelandic Suite featuring local craftsmanship. Outdoor hot tubs overlook the Rangá River, and the restaurant draws on locally sourced produce, meat, fish and dairy. Stargazing is a particular feature: the hotel’s observatory has two telescopes beneath a roof that rolls back to reveal the night sky. Northern lights services add another reason to look upwards when conditions permit.
