HS Khaan Resort Hotel places ger-inspired cottages on the open prairie northwest of Ulaanbaatar, with mountain silhouettes on the horizon. The accommodation follows the shape of Mongolia's traditional dwelling while providing 120-square-metre executive suites with extensive glazing towards the grasslands. Each suite has a private bathroom, a refrigerator and a bar counter, and can accommodate up to four guests using a sofa bed when needed. The resort is roughly 45 kilometres from the capital, close to the Naadam festival grounds at Khui Doloon Khudag. Its seasonal operation and broad prairie setting make the surrounding landscape, wildlife and night sky central parts of the experience.
