Juniper Restaurant

Juniper Restaurant connects a meal at Alila Jabal Akhdar with the landscape outside its windows. Named for the trees found in Oman’s highlands, it looks towards the Al Hajar Mountains and makes the surrounding region part of both the setting and the menu. The kitchen combines traditional Omani dishes with international cooking. Its wider inspiration comes from the history of Arabic gastronomy, giving the food a cultural reference that extends beyond a standard resort selection. Seasonal local produce is central to the approach. Ingredients from Alila’s hydroponic farm sit alongside those grown by farmers on the mountain, bringing the hotel’s immediate surroundings into the kitchen. Breakfast, lunch and dinner make Juniper part of the daily rhythm of a stay. The restaurant currently serves in-house guests only, so it is best understood as a reason to spend time at Alila itself, with meals that continue the connection to the mountains after a day of exploring.
