Kazoku serves contemporary Japanese food in New Cairo’s Swan Lake compound as part of Baky Hospitality’s restaurant collection. Its name reflects the idea of chosen family, and sharing a meal is central to the concept, with sushi providing a prominent part of the menu. Chef Reif Othman curates the food, combining traditional Japanese flavours with contemporary pairings. A separate drinks programme by Beirut-based mixologist Walid Merhi develops the same approach through cocktails and other beverages. The result is a restaurant built around modern Japanese cooking and a considered bar offering, with a suburban New Cairo address rather than a hotel dining-room setting.
