Khao Khanap Nam

Krabi Town, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi, Thailand — Krabi River entrance

Khao Khanap Nam

Khao Khanap Nam, explicitly in Krabi Town, is the pair of limestone hills that stand on either side of the Krabi River near the entrance to the town. The Tourism Authority of Thailand identifies the formation as a symbol of Krabi and describes the twin hills as roughly 100 metres high. Official tourism material also confirms that visitors normally approach by long-tail boat from Chao Fa Pier, with the ride taking about 15 minutes, rather than as a conventional inland walk-up attraction. This makes it one of the clearest ways to understand Krabi Town’s river setting and mangrove-fringed geography, not just the province’s beach image. The visit is more than a distant photo stop. TAT’s attraction and route pages confirm caves within the hills, with stalactites and stalagmites, and current tourism copy states there is a staircase up to the cave area. The same official article notes daily opening hours of 8.30am to 4.00pm, so this can reasonably be treated as an operating visitor site rather than only a viewpoint from the promenade. Ranked seventh, it earns its place as Krabi Town’s defining natural landmark: compact, strongly local in character, and best combined with the riverfront, boat piers and other town-based stops rather than treated as a full-day standalone excursion.
