Meals at Malealea Lodge follow the rhythm of a mountain stay. Breakfast includes cereals, fruit and cooked options, while the small lunch menu offers dishes such as toasted sandwiches, salads and burgers. The coffee shop adds cakes, including Mme Agnes's carrot cake. Dinner is a communal set meal, usually following the local band and choir performances around sunset. Braai evenings provide another format, and a fire warms the dining space in winter. Guests with dietary requirements can notify the lodge in advance; those wishing to prepare their own food also have access to communal kitchens.
