Mama's Fish House
Hawaii

Mama’s Fish House faces Kū‘au Bay on Maui’s North Shore, with a setting and cooking shaped by founders Floyd and Doris Christenson’s travels around Polynesia. Executive chef Perry Bateman, born and raised on Maui, works with fishermen and farmers whose families have supplied the restaurant across generations. Small boats bring mahi-mahi, ono, ahi and bottom fish, while daily produce deliveries keep the menu tied to the seasons. Breadfruit, mango, passion fruit, avocado and different local catches give the kitchen an evolving palette. The dining room’s collections recall the founders’ Pacific journeys, and the beachside Inn at Mama’s offers accommodation close to the restaurant.
