Mamma Maria looks across the cobblestones of North Square towards Boston’s skyline. Five dining rooms give the North End restaurant an intimate scale, with floor-to-ceiling windows connecting its historic setting to the city beyond. The daily changing menu interprets local produce through regional Italian cooking, turning towards northern and mountain dishes in cooler months and southern flavours in summer. Sample dishes include Duxbury oysters baked with Prosecco zabaglione, Maine lobster agnolotti and slow-cooked Vermont rabbit with pappardelle, pancetta and rosemary. A substantial wine selection, including half bottles, supports both shorter dinners and more leisurely meals.
