Manshausen

Manshausen is a small island retreat in Norway's Steigen archipelago. Its sea cabins use extensive glazing and restrained timber interiors to bring the surrounding water, mountains and light into the accommodation. A restored Main House forms the centre of island life, with a restaurant, lounge and upstairs library overlooking the landscape. Meals draw on local ingredients, including seafood, lamb, reindeer or moose as the seasons allow. The kitchen also preserves and ferments ingredients for winter, supported by a small garden. Beyond the cabins, a sauna, hot tub and private beach provide different ways to enjoy the island, with nearby waters and walking terrain offering further exploration.
