Mei Yuan

Mei Yuan is the Chinese restaurant at Silks Place Taroko, the mountainside hotel within Taroko National Park. Its name means plum garden, referring to the trees at the hotel's entrance. The kitchen focuses on fresh local ingredients, offering set menus and dishes to share family-style. Two private rooms sit alongside the main dining space. Lunch sets include vegetarian and Muslim-friendly options, and the hotel's menu features seasonal Mei Yuan dishes such as chicken and tofu in chilli sauce, pork with roselle sauce and stir-fried cabbage from Xibao Farm. These dishes connect the restaurant's Chinese repertoire with produce and flavours from the surrounding Hualien region.
