Michael's on the Hill occupies a farmhouse dating from around 1820 in Waterbury Center. Rolling lawns, perennial gardens and woodland surround the restaurant, with the Green Mountains forming the view beyond. The cooking retains the influence of founder Michael Kloeti's Swiss childhood, pairing European comfort-food traditions with Vermont ingredients. Seasonal produce and local suppliers shape the menu, giving the farmhouse setting a practical connection to what arrives on the plate. Andrew Kohn and Don Jones bought the restaurant from Michael and Laura Kloeti in 2023. The current restaurant continues to emphasise a relaxed welcome and locally sourced cooking, with the country-house setting and mountain sunsets remaining part of its appeal.
