Miss T's Kitchen

Miss T's Kitchen serves Jamaican country cooking at 65 Main Street in Ocho Rios. Self-taught chef Anna-Kay Tomlinson created a restaurant whose open-sided dining area, roof supported by tree-like posts and colourful decoration, brings the outdoors into the meal. Oxtail stew and curried goat are central to the kitchen's repertoire. Fish can be steamed, cooked in brown stew, served escoveitch with pickled vegetables and Scotch bonnet pepper, or prepared as rundown in coconut milk. The menu also gives space to vegetables, including coconut-curried chickpeas with ripe plantain. These different preparations make the island's herbs, spices and slow-cooked dishes the substance of the experience.
