Mita's
Ohio

Mita’s explores the cooking of Spain and Latin America from a downtown Cincinnati address. Chef Jose Salazar named the restaurant after his Colombian grandmother, giving a personal starting point to a menu that crosses regions and traditions. Tapas, ceviches, cured hams and cheeses sit alongside larger plates. The sharing format encourages a table to move between flavours and textures, with dishes arriving in waves rather than following a rigid starter-and-main sequence. Seasonal ingredients shape the cooking, which draws on both established recipes and contemporary interpretations. Spanish wines and Latin American influences carry through to the drinks, keeping the restaurant’s geographical interests present beyond the food. The dining room occupies the ground floor of the 84.51 building at Fifth and Race streets. Its substantial size and central setting make it a practical meeting place, particularly for a group happy to share and let dinner develop across several rounds of dishes.
