Moma Bulgarian Food & Wine

Moma Bulgarian Food & Wine occupies a 1930s house on Solunska Street in central Sofia. Its dining rooms spread over three floors and continue into an inner garden. Each room draws on a different aspect of Bulgarian domestic life, from clay and textiles to wheat, rose picking and traditional celebrations. The food follows the same regional interest. A selection of appetisers brings together recipes from Sofia and Velingrad, Black Sea tarama, pepper-and-tomato lyutenitsa and aubergine kyopoolou. Local cheeses, yoghurt and vegetables feature across those preparations, creating a table suited to sharing before the main dishes. The combination of themed rooms and garden seating offers several distinct settings within the same restaurant.
