Múlafossur
Gásadalur, Vágar, Faroe Islands, 387 Gásadalur
Múlafossur is one of the Faroe Islands’ classic postcard views: a waterfall dropping from the village of Gásadalur straight towards the ocean, with steep green slopes and the island of Mykines in the wider panorama. The setting is compact but remarkably dramatic, and the short final approach makes it an easy add to a west Vágar day. It is especially rewarding in changeable light, when cloud, spray and sea colour alter the scene minute by minute. The attraction works well as a quick stop, but the experience feels best when you linger long enough to walk carefully from the parking area and take in the village context as well as the falls themselves. Official guidance stresses keeping to marked paths and respecting fences and signage because the ground is steep and exposed. For a first Faroe Islands itinerary, this is one of the most distinctive nature stops in the country.
