The Carmen Thyssen museum is an excellent counterpoint to a Picasso-led itinerary. It gives another route into Spanish painting and the visual culture of Andalusia, encouraging a more varied view of the region than its most famous modern artist alone can provide. We would visit with a focused selection of galleries or a current exhibition in mind. Keep the surrounding old-town walk relaxed afterwards, rather than immediately moving into another large museum.
