The resort formerly known as One&Only Desaru Coast now operates as Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast, following a change of management and the January 2026 rebrand. Set within 128 acres of rainforest on Johor's southeastern coast, it opens onto a 1.5-kilometre beach facing the South China Sea. Its 44 suites each have a private plunge pool, courtyard and veranda, with a four-bedroom pool villa providing larger accommodation. A 56-metre infinity pool, spa, fitness centre and indoor and outdoor yoga spaces complement tennis, padel and nature walks. Family facilities include a children's club and creative studio. Ambara focuses on Malaysian ingredients, while Dusky Monkey serves Straits-inspired bites and drinks. The property's forest and beach setting remains central to the current resort.
