Onguma The Fort

Onguma The Fort brings an unusual architectural presence to the edge of Etosha. Its tower, substantial walls and sheltered public spaces face a waterhole and Fischer's Pan, allowing the surrounding landscape to remain part of the stay even between game drives. Thirteen suites provide several ways to experience the setting. Eleven Bush Suites are spaced apart for privacy, while the Honeymoon Suite adds an outdoor bath and lounge. The Sultan Suite occupies the main tower, with a private viewing deck and an elevated outlook towards the pan. The lodge's swimming pool, dining area and spa create a comfortable base between excursions. Activities can include drives on Onguma's private reserve, visits to Etosha through the Von Lindequist Gate, guided bush walks and time at the Onkolo Hide. For travellers combining Etosha's wildlife with a distinctive place to stay, The Fort offers a particularly strong sense of arrival. Its waterhole views also reward those willing to slow down and watch what unfolds from the lodge.
